Difficult is not the right word. The course is designed to push you to think outside the box. You can make it as easy or as challenging as you like. The more effort, the more rewarding, and you will see progress.
The structured program does have optional assignments for each module to complete, but they can only be submitted to an independent teacher for review. We are working on a way to included assignments at a reasonable extra cost. The assignments are optional but necessary to fix the lesson to memory, through repetition, visualisation and emotion.
Yes. You will receive a certification of completion for those that complete the full 8 module course. Please note Nautilus English is NOT an accredited platform. For those that require a legal requirement test for work, university, job applications etc, you will need to take an independent language level test.
The online automated self-study course has no time limit as you enter the platform and leave when you want to.
Each payment covers one module only and it is only permitted to buy one module per 30 days. You must complete them in a linear way. It is not possible to jump modules, they have to be completed in sequence.
Most students finish a module in 7 to 14 days but are then asked to go back and revise all the material and submit the optional assignments to an independent teacher.
Yes, the lessons build from one session to the next. It is designed to build speaking, listening and reading skills. You can’t skip modules.
If you are at lower B2 level (5.5), you will need to move gradually up to upper B2 level (6.5). This course is designed for that, giving you exposure to advanced English along the way. Do not be too concerned about levels and numbers. It’s about getting results in the end.

2. Correcting of your academic papers or IELTS preparation.
3. These courses don’t follow the traditional PPP methodology found in many language schools. If you prefer this lesson form, then this program is probably not for you.
4. Heavy grammar structured classes.

We are dedicated to each students progress and monitor how they are interacting with the course. However, as with most programs, the results depend on several factors, especially the attitude, commitment and motivation of the student. We demonstrate the art of learning and present the materials and topics needed to speak at an advanced level. At B2 C1 C2, extensive reading programs are a necessity, not an option.
Grammar and knowing the correct grammar rules are super important. However our structure does not focus on grammar which is all free on the internet. If you want grammar classes, this is not your program. Our whole course is, in fact, a lesson in grammar. We talk about the grammar issue during the program. You can download the grammar PDF needed per level from the grammar section in resources.
Yes, any students preparing for future exams will strongly benefit from this course. There are printable phrases and expressions for download, frequently used in IELTS exams. The course does not show you how to ace an IELTS test, you will have to find a teacher for this.

Sometimes there are pre-study notes and preparation before a lesson.

This course will give you the vocabulary you need to talk effectively on any real life topic and expand all manners of intellectual conversation. You will learn techniques for fixing words to memory and why word lists don't work.
Most live zoom classes come with assignments and projects. We encourage all students to submit homework which will be corrected and returned. We review together at the beginning of the next class. The structured program does not have assignments which we mark.
We go deep into story telling. Researching and watching documentaries and movies.
There is a specific course relating to business English, covering for example: business phrases, idioms and expressions, marketing , job interview basics and entrepreneurship.
Pronunciation errors are noted and corrected. There are sections on our website specific to pronunciation techniques, including a 44 phonemic interactive chart.
You will learn how to avoid the most common writing mistakes and how to structure sentences correctly.
You will learn the skill of "how to analyse imagery". This extremely effective and fun method will dramatically help to process story telling and build vocabulary.
Apart from assignments, you will learn why reading is one of the most effective methods for accelerated language learning.
There are some fun roleplays during the course which require a bit of pre-study.
We cover basic and advanced verbs, similes, homophones and idioms.
We teach how to speak effectively, avoiding "hmm" and "er". We study pace and intonation with real life examples from TED talks and other media.
This course does not focus on grammar classes. We do however correct any basic grammar errors a student is making and also occasionally discuss the odd grammar issue. (live classes only)
